David Rocklin

Born in Chicago, I’ve been a Los Angeles resident since 1989. I am a novelist – my novel, “The Luminist,” came out in October 2011 in the US; it was also sold in two other countries. I was privileged to commence a book tour in support of it. As I found myself reading in various cities, at events and solo, I began to discern a pattern. People came out in support of me, and the other authors I was lucky to find myself among. They were united in their interest in, and love of, all things creative, unique, hard to find and harder to replace should they be lost to disinterest. It made me feel like part of a community I’d not previously given much thought to. It made me want to find something like that here at home am also in the process of creating a reading series (see events for “Roar Shack”).
