{"id":1219,"date":"2014-02-27T09:48:14","date_gmt":"2015-09-16T04:06:58","guid":{"rendered":""},"modified":"-0001-11-30T00:00:00","modified_gmt":"-0001-11-30T07:00:00","slug":"20-years-after-charles-bukowski-memorial-gathering","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.lavatransforms.local\/2014\/02\/27\/20-years-after-charles-bukowski-memorial-gathering\/","title":{"rendered":"20 Years After: Charles Bukowski Memorial Gathering"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Henry Charles Bukowski (August 16, 1920 \u00e2\u20ac\u201c March 9, 1994)<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>You are cordially invited to join with friends, fans and followers of Charles Bukowski on the 20th anniversary of his death for an evening of poems, toasts and memories.<\/p>\n<p>The evening is hosted by Richard Schave (Esotouric\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s <a href=\"http:\/\/www.esotouric.com\/buk\" target=\"_blank\">Haunts of a Dirty Old Man<\/a> bus tour &amp; the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.esotouric.com\/bukowskicourt\" target=\"_blank\">De Longpre bungalow preservation campaign<\/a>) and will include readings from five notable Los Angeles poets and friends of the late writer: <a href=\"http:\/\/www.danfante.net\/home.htm\" target=\"_blank\">Dan Fante<\/a>, <a href=\"http:\/\/carmabum.blogspot.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">S.A. Griffin<\/a>, <a href=\"http:\/\/suzannelummis.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">Suzanne Lummis<\/a>, <a href=\"http:\/\/blues.gr\/profiles\/blogs\/an-interview-with-editor-poet-joan-jobe-smith-a-long-time\" target=\"_blank\">Joan Jobe Smith<\/a> and <a href=\"http:\/\/blues.gr\/profiles\/blogs\/west-coast-poet-fred-voss-talks-about-the-jazz-blues-bukowski\" target=\"_blank\">Fred Voss<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The location for this free event is the King Eddy Saloon, a location celebrated in the fiction of Bukowski\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s idol, John Fante, and located smack on The Nickel, where the young Bukowski came to learn about the world of men.
