John Parkinson<\/a>, an immigrant from Leicestershire, England, was one of Los Angeles’ premier architects in the early twentieth century, the boom days of the city’s development. Over fifty of of his buildings still stand in downtown Los Angeles, and more than a hundred across the city, including such iconic structures as the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum, Union Station, Bullocks Wilshire, Los Angeles City Hall, and the four buildings at the intersection of Fifth and Spring: The Alexandria Hotel<\/a>, Crocker Bank<\/a>, Rowan<\/a> and Security Savings<\/a>.
