Opening night for an exhibit of new works with paper, paint, and wood by artist Michael Gullberg. Organic forms are painted on reclaimed wood, then combined with carved elements to create sculptural paintings. Drawings and studies will also be included.<\/p>\n
\u00e2\u20ac\u0153In his paintings, Michael\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s imagery rides the line between surrealism and abstraction. His beings, birds, animals, plants and landscapes remind us of this world but lead us into the spiritual world of our dreams and imaginations \u00e2\u20ac\u201c the place where our true selves and our own “salvation” lies. His paintings take time to digest and require the viewer to meditate with eyes open. Images make themselves more apparent over time and with repeated viewing. Like music floating in our minds, his paintings allow our imaginations to drift in thought and memories. And just as we do with music, we take away our own individual meanings and interpretations of each of his paintings”<\/p>\n
Gallery will also be open for viewing on Sundays (May 16, 23, 30) from noon to 4.<\/p>\n
