I am a local theatrical producer and author of a recently published book: Exhibitionist: Earl Stendahl, Art Dealer as Impresario. Earl Stendahl (1888-1966) who was my husband’s grandfather, was a true visionary. He championed the unknown California Impressionist painters of the 1910s-1930s and almost single-handedly introduced Modern and Pre-Columbian art to the West Coast. My husband is the President of Stendahl Galleries in Los Angeles, which is one hundred years old this year.

I am an organizer for a fundraising/friend-raising event to benefit Hedgebrook – the writers colony for women writers located on Whidbey Island, Puget Sound, Washington. I have been a writing resident at Hedgebrook three times; these quiet, inspiring stays transformed my writing life, and the Southern California Leadership Council hopes to bring money and new support to the organization.
